K-Pop Fashion

The Filipino fans not only developed an interest in the Koreanovelas or K-Pop music and bands, but also the likeness towards the Korean fashion. This Korean fashion trend exploded among the students who love to be hip and chic and be “In” with the new. Even sometimes it may look weird for other, they don’t care at all. As long as they tried to be Koreans, by imitating the Korean haircuts, wearing K-Pop clothes that mostly are warm in the body and not suitable to our country’s climate. They also love wearing bling-bling/accessories, large with different shape and colourful sunglasses, and usually huge looking colourful shoes.

K-Pop Filipino Version

In response to the Filipinos growing addiction towards Korean Popular (K Pop). Philippine Music industry also makes its own version of K Pop Groups. Like “Pop Girls” and “XLR8” A K Pop male group version in the Philippines. This makes a variety of reaction from the Filipino audiences, especially Filiipino fans. Some have negative reaction about another copy, while some felt glad about the brave move of the Philippine Music industry.

"XLR8"

XLR8 is a sing and dance boy group in the Philippines under VIVA Records' P-Pop Label. XLR8 is composed of Arkin del Rosario, Carlo Lazerna, the identical twins MJ and MM Magno, AJ Muhlach, Kiko Ramos,Hideaki Torio and Caleb Santos. They are regularly seen on the Sunday noontime variety show Party Pilipinas aired on GMA 7.

“Pop Girls”

POP GIRLS indeed is the new face of music and sound of Philippine Pop Music. The teenage group is undoubtedly at par, or even better than the rest of the Asian groups which continue to invaded the music scene today. POP GIRLS seals the country's rightful claim to P-POP as the new nickname for Philippine Pop Music to reflect the youthful flair of the group and the music, very much in the tradition of Korea's K-Pop and Japan's J-POP.
Philippine pop music goes through a refreshing rebirth with the emergence of the newest girl group of five teenage scene with compelling charm, striking style and total talent.
The fabulous five who make up POP GIRLS are twins Lai and Mar, both aged 16 and half Lebanese; Half Filipino, half Dutch Rose, 13 years old; Half Filipino, half Swiss Schai, 14 years old; the only pure Filipino in the group.
Though coming from various lineages, the girls perfectly jive together to form a melodic clique that is POP GIRLS. This impression is also very much in tune with the album the girls are now working on.

K-Pop Female Group and their K-Pop Songs

Recently through, “Korean Popular Music or K-Pop” is the more Korean cultural Products across the world that also affects the Filipinos and they already loved the K-Pop music. I’m confused why i often hear sort of Filipinos singing K-Pop music and going to a K-Pop band concert, because i assumed that they don’t understand Korean language. And that’s how I see that there is really a Korean wave in our country.

I listed K-Pop Female Group and their K-Pop songs that are Chart toppers and some done a concert in the Philippines that Filipinos go after.

  “Wonder Girls”

Believe it or not but I think you would agree with me that because of the song “Nobody ” of Wonder Girls is the reason why Filipino started to patronized the K-Pop Groups and their  Music.

“2en1”
Song they Popularized
Fire and I don’t Care

Do you still remember Sandara Park as the “Famous Krung Krung” in our country? Now she’s gaining a huge popularity in Korea when she entered in the Music Industry. Aside from there wonderful music and fantastic moves in their MTV’s, I think 2en1 gained support in our country because of Sandara Park.

“Girls Generation”

The largest female K-Pop group with nine members that every Filipina want to be. Having a beautiful face and graceful moves and also their dance popping music is the reason why it invites a lot of Filipino fans.

K-Pop Male Group and their K-Pop Songs

“Super Junior”

I was really shock when I seen on TV how many people attended in Araneta Coliseum just to watch the Concert of Super Junior. And on the second (2nd) time that they made a concert, still many people watch them even for the second (2nd) time. Super Junior is the male version of Girls Generation. Super Junior largest K-Pop group.

                                                                                                                             “SS501”
The name of the band is a combination of letters and numbers that have special meaning. The first “S” stands for “Superstar". The second “S” is an abbreviation for "Singer". The combination of 5, 0, and 1 symbolizes "five members united as one forever. This group actually became popular in the Philippines because one of their members is Kim Hyun Joong who became popular in Boys over Flower.

"BIGBANG"

Big Bang is a South Korean boy band. The group's formation was chronicled on the television series Big Bang Documentary.  During the early days of their career, Big Bang's music was predominately hip hop, although they incorporated R&B songs into their albums as well. A writer for Yahoo! Japan once compared their early materials to that of American hip-hop artists such as the Black-Eyed Peas, stating that their material included "catchy vocals, rap and characters.

Maybe those things that Black eyed Peas see on these groups are the reason also that catch Filipinos attention to patronized this group.

"Beast "

Beast is a boy band from Korea that consists of six members. The members areYoon Doo-joon, Jang Hyun-seung, Yong Jun-hyung, Yang Yo-seob, Lee Gi-kwang and Son Dong-woon. The group was originally known as B2ST, an acronym for Boys 2 Search for Top. However, their name was changed to BEAST (Boys of East Standing Tall).

K-Pop groups like coming in the Philippines because they know that they will receive fame and hospitality not just their fellow Koreans who stays in our country, but also fro, Filipinos.
